Sampaguita Jay has been tattooing for over 10 years. Achieving her childhood dream, Sampaguita’s always wanted to be a tattoo artist with a huge influence being her father, a portrait artist. With her Filipino roots as her inspiration, Sampaguita incorporates the traditional Filipino tattoo style into her modern tribal and realism pieces. Having the honor to learn from one of the most profound traditional Filipino artists, Apo Whang Od, and apprentice under Elle Mana Festin, a Filipino tribal tattoo master, she formed a stronger connection to her ancestry and uses her heritage to push forward all of her tattoos - mixing cultural tradition with modern innovation.
